Coconut Bowls & 100% rye pastries.

When I first saw coconut bowls I absolutely loved them, love at the first sight for sure. I was also hyped by all those smoothie bowls everywhere!

Of course is nothing wrong with a smoothie bowl but I think I started following a Social Media trend completely forgetting what I really like and what my true style is. Don’t get me wrong, smoothie bowls are brilliant and I do enjoy a lot of them, especially the green one with spinach! It’s just, they’re everywhere!

I live vegan lifestyle 80% of the day I think. Sometimes I enjoy pastries (wheat free of course) or cheese and eggs. So why not to share with you my non-vegan recipes! All my ingredients are organic, eggs from farms I know chickens have a normal life, same with cheese, only from locals!

Coconut bowls are not for a sole use for smoothie bowls in my opinion. They’re amazing for everything you want. Sustainable tableware which looks great, and is out of ordinary.

I decided to take some pictures featuring coconut bowl in a bit different way, in a style which I love the most. Majority call it a mystery light food photography. Call it any way you want, I call it rustic  😊

People may wonder why everyone is so hyped about coconut bowls? Some are hyped because these bowls are just adorable, aren’t they? But behind the cute coconut shell bowl is a bigger mission, sustainability. Every year millions of coconut shells are burned as waste, Coconut Bowls reclaim them and turn them into the food safe environmentally friendly products you can eat from!

I used my coconut bowl to put the cherries which I later used for my pastries. I think it looks as cool as a smoothie bowl ☺️

Recipe for pastries:

– 3,5 glasses of white rye flour

-200ml milk (I used almond milk)

-14g instant yeast

-2 eggs

-120g melted butter

-vanilla extract

-2/3 glass of sugar. I normally don’t use sugar but xylitol kills yeast so is not appropriate. Here I used Demerara and 65g of vanilla white sugar.

– cherries. I used preserved cherries, you can use fresh or frozen. Remember to unfreeze first, and get rid of the excess of water.

Declutter Your Life. Skin Care.

Hello!

It took me a while, decluttering. But I think I’m in a good place at the moment, not perfect, but definitely, not horrible.

I would like to share my 5 tips on how to declutter your skin care/beauty products. In a different version: a video.

Enjoy!

I also have a little list for you, which you can print, or do whatever you want. Just a little reminder 🙂

Declutter your skin care

30 days with New Wash

Hello!
Sorry for a slightly longer break!
As you may remember I decided to do a full 30-day challenge with a New Wash and then just post a final post because I had days when I had to use hair modelling products (weddings and stuff), so eventually, I needed to use a clearing shampoo. But I did test it for a long time and here are the results.

As I said earlier, the shampoo smells amazing and my hair a super soft after, and scalp itching is completely gone. yes, that is true.

But:

  • If you have bleached hair and your goal is to have it silver or white, everyday washing is not healthy plus the toner washes out quicker.
  • Unfortunately, my itching came back, with a bit of a buildup of dead skin on my scalp.

But:

  • If you have natural hair or dyed to dark colours, this is a shampoo for you.
  • If you don’t have scalp issues, or your issues are minor give it a go as it may actually heal the problem.
  • Extremely useful in summer, because in a heat wave even bleached hair needs to be washed every day.
  • Saves money, as there is no more need for a conditioner.

Well, as you can see, my hair looks slightly damaged and dry. And they normally don’t, when I wash it every third day with my silver shampoo.

HOWEVER, if you guys use oils as your hair treatment, New Wash is a must! It is just the best shampoo when it comes to washing off the oil! When I use Black Cumin Oil overnight I need to wash my hair twice in the morning, I use New Wash as my first product and then my regular shampoo. This method works best for me because I don’t need to use a strong shampoo twice.

New Wash by Hairstory Day 1 and 2

Hello, Everyone!

I have something new for you.

I am currently testing New Wash Shampoo by Hairstory Studio and I will be doing it for 30 days so I can give you the best review possible.

New Wash is cruelty-free and all bad stuff free.

Producer presents these benefits:

– Aloe juice, and oils of Jojoba seed, Sunflower seed, and Peppermint cleanse instead of detergent.
– Respects hair and scalp
– Preserves color
– Detangles
– Eliminates frizz
– Saves water, time, and money
– No need for conditioner or masque

Day 1

I have bleached hair and very oily scalp, and trust me it’s so horrible to find a good shampoo. So, when Hairstory offered me New Wash to try I was super excited.

Have a look at the video how my hair looks like without any modelling. The last bit of the video is my hair after washing it with a New Wash. No straightening, nothing.

My feelings after the first wash.

  • Smells absolutely amazing
  • Very thick
  • I thought I am washing my hair with conditioner. But that’s not a bad thing
  • I didn’t use the conditioner as my hair were very smooth without it
  • I didn’t experience any itching, which is incredible!
  • I didn’t have to use a straightener because my hair looked pretty nice

One thing which I’m not so sure about is how long your hair can last without washing. So, my hair is greasy the next day 😦 But this may change, maybe my hair will adapt. I am patient so I will be trying to wash my hair every second day to see how it goes.

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder Review

I felt a great relief when I found out Too Faced Cosmetics are cruelty-free. I love them to bits!

I’m not a makeup geek but I value good quality beauty products which won’t damage my skin. We all know layers of foundation are not good for our skin. In that case, I’m trying to avoid wearing foundation and instead I use pressed powder to matte my face and give it a little bit of good colour.

So pretty.

Ingredients:
Talc, Silica, Dimethicone, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Morus Nigra Fruit Extract. May Contain/Peut Contenir/(+/-): Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499). *Vegan-friendly *Formulated without parabens

My skin type is a combination type. Have a look what is advantageous for me in this product.

  • It does its job. My skin isn’t greasy or shiny for literally 12hrs. Unless I workout.
  • Very delicate, I’m quite sure it will be good for an allergic skin.
  • Not perfumed.
  • It doesn’t get cakey at all!
  • It minimizes the appearance of pores, as promised.
  • It is not comedogenic which is brilliant. I hate bloody blackheads.
  • Beautiful packaging obviously.
  • It’s Vegan-Friendly!

Disadvantages:

-Some people would have said price, but guys, this powder really does a job and I think is worth it. I have it for 6 months, so it’s okay to spend £24 every 6 months on a good quality product. Buy one which you are happy with, and not dozens to replace or mix, and it won’t be that expensive 🙂

I will totally be purchasing more Too Faced products in the future , especially that now I know they are cruelty-free and after testing this powder I have high hopes for the rest of the line.

Cruelty-Free Makeup

Hello Everyone!

As you probably saw on my Social Media, I decided to add a new posts category: Cruelty-Free Beauty products. Why? Let me tell you what kindled me to start being more aware of the brands I use. We’re all being influenced by someone or something. I must admit that Jenny Mustard  had a big influence on me and since I started watching her videos, something just came to my mind, that I should be more focused on important things rather than buying zillions of items on Ebay, or buying cosmetics without thinking what’s in there or if some living creature actually suffered for me to have that product.

Since this changed, I feel a lot better, I feel that I contribute something to the world, something which isn’t merely a consume-waste type of behaviour. As a person I can do little, but not buying products from huge concerns makes me better. I won’t change anything, but at least I am not giving them my bit of profit.

So from now on, I will be sharing  my experience, reviews and thoughts about 100% Cruelty-Free Beauty products. And I hope you will find something for you 🙂

On the side note, I am also quite experienced with skin problems. I dealt with rosacea, acne, combination skin and now trust me, I walk without a touch of foundation because my skin is nice and clear. All thanks to cruelty-free cosmetics that easily replace the popular brands… And work wonders! If any of these skin problems is something you are currently fighting with, feel free to ask me questions on mentioned topics, but remember, we are talking only cruelty-free brands 🙂

My research (Cruelty-Free Kitty was really helpful)  has shown that my favourite  brand e.l.f (thankfully) is cruelty-free! I’m so happy because I like their lipsticks and mineral powders. Probably will review something soon 🙂
