Top worst celebrity diets to avoid in 2017, British Dietetic Association.

I am really sorry for being that quiet! But I think I mentioned on Instagram that I have so much going on at the moment, I decided to learn some new things and maybe become a student again.

Following the thought, from now on my blog will be focused on food a little bit more and on organic home made remedies and the companies I support. I am worried about the society falling into some dangerous trend of ‘clean eating’. Well, clean eating is super important but please, we cannot lose our brains in that.

The British Dietetic Association has recently published an article about celebrity diets to avoid. I thought it might be good to share it with you.

Mentioned in the post ‘Clean Eating’.
Who loves it: Miranda Kerr, Jessica Alba, Deliciously Ella, Hemsley Sisters and Madeline Shaw.
What is the idea of the ‘Clean Eating’: Fans of that lifestyle influence people to avoid all processed foods and eat only ‘clean’ ones. Get rid of refined sugar, cook everything from scratch. Everything perfect, right? But, many of the versions of that diet exclude gluten, dairy and many grains, or cooked meals. Raw till 4 and stuff.
What BDA and me say about it: They’d rather leave cleaning for our kitchen after cooking. Well, excluding refined sugar is absolutely fine, no one needs it but gluten? What? Are you coeliac? Coconut Oil, oh yes we all love it, well, I would suggest to switch to the rapeseed one. I am not saying coconut oil is bad, but please, it is just a trend, rapeseed oil has as many health benefits as coconut oil, and it’s local! Professionals from BDA mentions Orthorexia Nervosa, which is basically an obsession of healthy eating, well over healthy I’d say. Yes guys, please don’t exclude gluten from your diet, it doesn’t plaster your bowel, trust me. Just choose wholemeal! I recommend wholemeal spelt and rye. I am wheat intolerant and these two are amazing and healthy for me!
Diet Pills
Who loves it: Kim Kardashian, Sam Faier.
What is the idea: Do I need to explain?
What BDA and me say about it: BDA says: ‘Warning, danger!’ Me: WTF, PILLS?! REALLY?! Okay, let’s be serious. Please, don’t use any pills without consulting your GP or nutrition professional. Supplements we can buy in Boots or similar drug stores are not properly tested and many times cause diarrhoea because of the senna leaf presence ( Don’t touch senna leaf without asking your GP). If you are having problems with obesity, your doctor will help you with the specific pill, prescribed only for you which suits your needs.
Teatox
Who loves it: Nicki Minaj, Kylie Jenner and I think the whole World.
What is the idea? You drink your ‘poo tea’ and basically wash out all good stuff from your body.

Don’t let yourself to fall into the diets trends please, the only thing which is really important is eating healthy and not regretting anything! Let’s change our eating habits and stick to them, without unhealthy overdosing of green juices and ‘poo teas’ .

This pyramid says the truth!

Farmdrop Christmas Tasting Event

I think my blog is becoming too focused on food. Don’t blame me please, I love food. But… we all do? My lovely friend Meyrovich surely agrees with me on this, right?

So, we had an amazing opportunity to attend Farmdrop Christmas Tasting Event. Thank you Farmdrop for inviting us, we had such a great time.

We were given an opportunity to prepare some Christmas stuffing by ourselves, but under Masterchef finalist instructions – Beth’ Thomas and it was a brilliant experience as I have never made any stuffing in my life.  Meyrovich and I were given a veggie option with bread crumbs and then we could add whatever we wanted: I went for cranberries, sauerkraut, walnuts, mushrooms, fresh parsley, and some spices. As you know I don’t eat meat so, I didn’t really have anything to stuff haha, but I just fried it a little bit in a dry pan and my significant other at home said it was delicious, so … thanks, Beth! (I surely recommend to check Beth’s blog, and try making that mulled wine cheesecake!)

We also had a chance to try some new products, and if you are not vegan but vegetarian I recommend their cheese, Cornish Yarg, absolutely amazing and grass-fed, so no suffering here on the moo side of things! I am not vegan but I do care where are my products from, I wouldn’t buy eggs which are not really free-range and I know that Farmdrop eggs are free from suffering!

And good news guys! You can try delicious products by yourself, shop at Farmdrop and use a special discount code ‘ANNMARIQ’ to get £20 discount on your first order! (Minimum spend £50). Isn’t it amazing?

Wrapping it up, take a look at some of the pics from the event. Looks cosy, right? So hyggeligt! (The Little Book of Hygge, I strongly recommend)

Veggie Rolls

Time for a vegan recipe!

I always thought these are very time-consuming. But when I tried making some, I completely changed my mind, not only they are not time-consuming but also they are delicious!

You need:

Rice paper. I prefer bigger size.
Veggies! I used: peppers, avocado, rocket, radish, carrots, cucumbers.
Water.

Chilli sauce:

One chilli pepper.
Olive oil or rapeseed oil, it’s up to you.
Cider Vinegar.
Salt and pepper.
Garlic, one clove.
Water.
Tomato sauce.
Something sweet. I added some date syrup.
Black sesame (optional)
Soy Sauce. I always use Kikkoman Gluten Free

Preparation :

Chop chilli and garlic in super small pieces and fry a little bit. Then add a little bit of tomato sauce, then water, spices, sesame (optional), sweet stuff, and vinegar. Stir it and keep checking the taste, and keep adding things if you need to 🙂

Citrus Drink with Sibberi

I’m happy that I can finally say it out loud: I started working with an amazing company : Sibberi, which distributes the healthiest water of all: Birch Water!

I think that it is a great opportunity to present a very simple recipe for a healthy and refreshing drink based on birch water.

It’s so easy. You just need Sibberi (they have three flavours: bamboo, maple and clean birch), limes, fresh or frozen mint leaves, frozen orange, lemons and something sweet if you like. I’d suggest maple syrup, but I didn’t add anything sweet it was tasty without it. Check out some pictures I took while preparing it. Zingy!

Birch water has amazing health benefits and when it’s sugar-free it means you can enjoy guilt-free as much as you want. Click here to find out about the health benefits.

Vegan Chocolates

‘Fighting’ late night cravings with Peanut Butter Vegan Pralines!

Sweet cravings… we all have them sometimes! What should we do when we want something sweet but don’t want to ruin our healthy diet? We make Vegan Pralines with peanut butter! Grab this quick and easy recipe and treat yourself with healthy pralines.

What do you need:

  • Creamed Coconut or Coconut oil mixed with creamed coconut.
  • Cocoa
  • Peanut Butter. I used Meridian Smooth Peanut Butter
  • Agave Syrup / Xylitol / Date Syrup or whatever you want for sweetness.
  • Vanilla extract or any other flavour you want. I used vanilla sticks for extra fresh taste.

Process:

Melt creamed coconut, be careful not to get water in it because it might get lumpy. Add some sweetener, I added 3 tsp of Biona Agave Syrup . Mix it together and then add 2 tbsp of cocoa powder, I used this Organic Cocoa Powder

When you have your chocolate part ready, put a layer of it in forms, to make the bottom of a praline. When it’s done, put the form in the fridge. Keep it there for at least one hour, or put it in the freezer and wait 15 minutes (just as I do, I’m not patient when it comes to food) .

Peanut butter filling:

It’s the simplest part of the recipe. Mix peanut butter with a little bit of salt and some sweetener and put the filling into your form. Next, pour the rest of your chocolate coconut (melt it again if needed) and put in the fridge for at least 2 hours. No cutting corners here with freezing it – give the pralines some time to settle.

Last step… enjoy your pralines!

If you have some questions, drop me a comment or an email. And if you made them, feel free to post them on Instagram and tag me, I’m always happy to see it!

Vegan Spelt Waffles

I decided to make vegan waffles!. At first, I thought I will fail in making them, but surprisingly, not only that did not happen, but they came out better than non-vegan waffles! I swear they are super crispy and really tasty!

If you feel like making some,  I present you a recipe that I came up with. I found many vegan waffles recipes but I wasn’t entirely sure about them. You can experiment with it as much as you want. That’s what I did. I was just following my intuition. 🙂

The recipe:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour. I used white spelt.
  • 4 tbsp of oil. I used rapeseed.
  • 3 tbsp of vegan cream. I used Oatly and I recommend it!
  • 1 tsp soda or baking powder. I used gluten free corn baking powder.
  • Vanilla
  • Sweet stuff (mix and match): Xylitol, Stevia, Agave Syrup, Maple Syrup or Dates, it is entirely up to you. I used Stevia and Agave Syrup.
  • Water. You need to be careful with it. Add as much water as you need, the dough should be thicker than a pancake dough, but not too thick.
  • Add some seeds, if you want. I added chia.

Tip. You can also add a mashed banana. If I had one, I would do that 🙂

Mix it all together. As I mentioned earlier, the dough should be thicker than a pancake one but not too much.

Fry this in a waffle maker for about 5 minutes. Take a peek now and then to make them just the way you like them.

And you’re done!

They are extremely easy and tasty. We had them with sugar-free apricot jam and Choc-Shot by Sweet Freedom.

Thanks for reading. Please follow my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for more updates on noms like this!

Let me know about your experience 😉

Cheers!

Hello!

I know, I changed the name again. It’s a bit silly but I think I finally found the best one! The previous one – gone and forgotten.

But this post isn’t about my thoughts regarding blog names. I want to share my Farmdrop experience.

What’s Farmdrop? It’s an online organic food shop. I decided to try them because I am really unsatisfied with the food quality in all the big markets like Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, etc. If I buy tomatoes, they can stay two weeks in the fridge and even mould is not interested in eating them… Not even to mention me. Don’t count my boyfriend in, he eats everything. Friday morning, a lovely van arrived. Perfect time (I was texted the day before what time the driver may arrive, look at the screenshot below), an absolutely lovely deliverer unpacked my shopping, and the van… it was gorgeous! So, first impression? Great. Christmas came early this year, in August, so to speak.

What is more, everything smells extremely fantastic, like from my mum’s garden.  And if it says a bunch of beetroots, it means it’s a very big one. Artichoke? Massive, my friend. The quality is brilliant, I couldn’t ask for more. Will order every week.

Have a look:

I just want you to know, this post isn’t sponsored. I chose to do it because I think healthy habits are extremely important and I am really disappointed with food quality in supermarkets.

TinyTea Final Review

Yeah, finally!

14 days into trying TinyTea, and have noticed many changes, most of which are positive, here are a few of them. I will do it in points so it will be much clearer.

Skin:

•Skin breakout after one week. But luckily and surprisingly everything was sorted after three days.
•My skin is very clear now, also blackheads have disappeared.
•Skin is a bit dry because of the dehydration. So if you drink TinyTea remember to drinking a lot of water.

Body:

•My belly is actually flat. Obviously the tea didn’t burn my fat but I am not as bloated. •Cellulite is not that visible! Seriously.
•I feel I have much more energy and I am happier!
•I don’t need tons of sweets anymore.

Overall, TinyTea by YourTea helped me with the cleansing my body and the horrible cellulite. I didn’t experience any side effects or dizziness. I would recommend that tea for tea lovers and for people who want to change their lifestyle into the healthiest one. It is a good start: to clean your body and start from the beginning with a green lifestyle!

I am also very keen to try different brand of TeaTox, I will wait a month and probably you will see another review.

Enjoy your cup of tea!
